So weekend started off to a great start! Had a wonderful date night with my husband Friday night then got tons of stuff done around the house the rest of the weekend! Sunday we got the family together to split wood!
As my daughter and I are stacking the wood I had a total flash back of when I was her age and split wood with my parents! God how time flies. We had so much fun laughing and enjoying the beautiful weather while breaking a sweat!
Then Monday came!! What could go wrong DID!! Work is a mad house. My car ended up in the shop needing new tires and possibly a new fuel system!
Then towards the end of the day I get a phone call that our Son was in a car accident!
The first thing that goes through your mind is " Oh my God is he ok?" Thank God he is fine. It was just a little fender bender! The second thing that goes through you mind is " Who's fault was it?" Well our son got the ticket! He was making a right hand turn on a red light and the other car decided at the last minute to turn left instead of going straight so they hit each other!
So I come home as depressed as can be because of the car repairs to my car, the car repairs to his car and wondering how the hell we are going to be able to afford car insurance for him now! Then I realized that all these things are so minor compared to so many other things that could have gone wrong! Thank God my Son is ok, Thank God I have a beautiful car to begin with and Thank God we all have our health! It's sometimes hard to see all the blessings you have in life when so much goes wrong all at once! Thank you God for always watching over me and for reminding me how truly blessed I really am!
I love how you turned your attitude around and looked at the positives that is amazing!!! Such a strong woman you are!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! It does suck that so much went wrong but its true you are still very blessed.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! I am SO glad your son is okay. And what a beautiful post. You are so right. Little earthquakes. You are a very blessed lady, Monica.
ReplyDeleteUgh! So sorry you had a bad day. SO glad your son is ok. I dont know about where you are but insurance is already ridiculous for under 25 drivers here....especially boys. You know the saying, when it rains it pours. Great attitude about it all Mon and you are so right! I hope you have a better day today!
ReplyDeleteFirst, that God that your son is fine. That's the main thing. But, I totally can relate about when it rain - it POURS. Sometimes it's hard to see the bright side - but I'm glad you do! Hope your week continues to improve!
ReplyDeleteI'm proud of you for being positive about it! I always complain about little stuff, and my hubby always tells me it could be worse, which is true! Hopefully things turn around for you this week!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're all okay! My brother had a similar accident when he was younger... my mom freaked but realized the same thing you did- could have been worse!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that your son is okay! I'm glad that you are okay! I'm in a funk this week, I better get out of it in less than week or so! haha!
ReplyDeleteTroubles usually come in groups...cars can be a pain in the neck can't they? I'm so glad he wasn't hurt. I know exactly what you're going thru. When my oldest was a senior ... he was involved in 5 accidents in one month. Can you imagine. I finally stopped answering the phone. Then one evening as I was cooking dinner (probably the only time I was cooking) 2 different people told me they saw my other son on the side of the road he 'd been involved in a huge accident. (Of course none of them stopped). My husband and I just jumped in the car to rush and see if he was okay. He ended up being okay so we took him home. We forgot however, that we left our 9 year old daughter home without even telling her we'd left. She came into the kitchen and freaked out cuz all of a sudden no one was home. When the kids got their licenses I hated it when the phone rang. Smile kiddo...this too will pass.
ReplyDeleteOh... when did you get the new blog look? Have I missed this for a long time? Am I going blind? I like it....I notice that on my computer your blog is larger than it used to be. I can't see the whole thing without scrolling left and right. I don't know if it's just my setting or something. Anyway...way to change it up.
ReplyDeletewhat a good attitude to have! it is crazy how some days are so good and others are so rough. it is also a great reminder to put things into perspective and be thankful for what we have!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great message and reminder on a better way to view things! And I'm so glad that everyone's okay!
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled to be your newest follower and my blog is still small but I would love it if you could return the follow if you get the chance :)
