Another great weekend!

Boy what a great weekend! Friday night took Josh out for dinner for his birthday. It turned out to be a $100.00 dinner and I didn't enjoy one bite! Don't you hate it when you spend your hard earned money on dinner and don't enjoy it? Well Josh enjoyed it and I guess that's all that matters being that is was his Birthday!

Saturday was the big day! My 5K!! I was so nervous because all my friends actually trained for it and of course I did not run one day before the event. We all met at my girlfriends house so we could go together.

Then off to down town. Thank God the weather was perfect! It was in the low 70's!

I Call This One Ready, Set, Go!

I was so proud of myself. I actually did it. Almost ran the whole way! Ran it in 37 min which I thought was pretty good. Me and my friends all held hands and went through the finish line together! I know that sounds kind of corny but I get that way with my family and friends!

My hubby is not a runner but he came to support me and to hang with the gang for the after party!

We all went to Old Chicago's for some pizza and Green beer and boy did we have fun!!

Those are our Beautiful girls!

My Son and his Girlfriend!

We were all suppose to go hiking Sunday morning but I was so sore I could hardly walk! That's what I get for not training for the 5K! So they all went without me!

Family came back from their hike and we all hung out and watched some movies! The end to what I would consider a PERFECT WEEKEND!

  1. Sounds like a great weekend! I knew you'd be able to kick that 5K's ass even w/out training :)

  2. Sounds like a great time! I am proud you ran without training! Good job! Enjoy your week Monica. I hope it is still nice out your way. The hike pics are great!

  3. That sounds like an awesome weekend! Cute festive running gear!

  4. The 5k outfits are AWESOME!

  5. Yay! Way to rock that 5k! You did great!! They are fun when you can get dressed up and also with friends!
Plus, it makes the celebrating afterwards feel all that much more deserved =)
I hope the soreness doesn't deter you from another one. Just remember to stretch really well afterwards and warm-up a bit before. My warm-ups consist of walking to the start line from a far away parking spot and stretching a bit at the start line.
I'm glad you had a great weekend!

  6. Congratulations on your 5K!

I found this post because E actually linked to it for Lots of Link Love over at my blog, Stress Case.

You can come read about Lots of Link Love and what it's all about if you'd like!
